The Group Study Exchange (GSE) is a program of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International and is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for young business and professional men and women between the ages of 25 and 40 and in the early years of their professional lives. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits between paired areas in different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's institutions and ways of life, observe their own vocations as practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.  More information on this program click here. to go to the Rotary International website.

Delaware Rotary typically hosts a day of activities when a team visits the District.

One such team from Brazil arrived in 2003. The Delaware Rotary Club hosted the group Sunday  through Wednesday, April 23. They met the Delaware City Manager and  Mayor. The team really delved into the various forms of city government and how decision making is done. The team then visited the Delaware Municipal Court where they were able to observe Judge Sunderman arraign a prisoner in the Delaware County Jail via a two-way television hookup. From there, the GSE team visited the DelawareArtsCastle, where they learned about a vast number of programs available to a wide range of age groups.

The Team from India in 2010 was an energetic group visiting a number of local business organizations and enjoying cultural opportunities.  Rotarians from the Health Dept, Fire Dept, Library, Hospital, Court system, City Manager, Center for Older Adults, Oakhurst, Andrews House and Buehler's provided tours and refreshments.  The group also enjoyed a trip for ice cream, visit to our local temple, an Indian dinner, the Arts Castle, Harley Davidson, First Friday in Delaware, Perkins Observatory, The Columbus Zoo, Polaris Mall and a victorious Crew Game!  All in 4 days!  For information on how to participate as either an outbound GSE team member or help the next Inbound team enjoy Delaware, contact Jackie Kuhns.
